Key research conclusions:

A person is said to have metabolic syndrome (MetS) if they are obese, have high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and abnormal cholesterol levels. This condition can progress to type 2 diabetes and heart ailments. It has been demonstrated that the type of honey known as kelulut honey, which is made by bees that do not have stingers, can help treat MetS. After having their MetS induced with a diet heavy in carbohydrates and fat, the rats in this study were given a treatment consisting of Kelulut honey. The group that was given honey from Kelulut saw improvements in their blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and hormone levels associated with metabolism after receiving treatment. Also, the honey reduced the buildup of fat in the liver, as well as harm to the kidneys and pancreas. In conclusion, the use of Kelulut honey as a natural method for the prevention of MetS by regulating hormones and promoting metabolic health is possible.
